Welcome to Mrs. Balish's Second Grade!

I am so excited to have your student in second grade with me this year!

Together, you and I will work as a team to ensure your student is thriving in academics and in faith. You, the parent, are your child's first and most important teacher in life.   Raising and educating a child is a partnership and I thank you for allowing me the opportunity to work with you and your child.

-Mrs. Balish

My Teaching Philosophy

Teaching as a whole should be genuine, student focused: and flexible, all of which promotes a two-way street of trust between teacher and pupil. As an educator, I will provide my students with a safe, non-judgmental and positive learning environment in order to help them reach their full potential. Teachers must create an environment that fosters positive teacher and student interactions.

The goal of education is to create critical thinkers, problem solvers, life long learners, and to promote positive social interactions throughout an individual’s schooling experience.  Students must be provided with the tools and social experiences that will allow them to become successful in all aspects of their life beyond just their school years.

Learning should be challenging as well as a positive. My students will thrive in my classroom. Providing a positive and creative learning environment, encouraging positive social interactions, and developing a student-centered interactive classroom will ensure that I have created a classroom community.
